Heather Krempel:

Heather has a background in working with individuals with special needs which stems from growing up with a brother who has autism as well as being a therapeutic riding instructor /camp counselor at Camp Red Cedar and Summit Equestrian Center. Heather serves as Executive Director of FTDF in addtion to being the Rural Outreach Ally for another organization, My Autism Ally.

When she isn’t working, Heather can be found out in the barn caring for her horse, donkey, and chickens. Her love for decorating can be traced back to her degree in Theatre from IPFW.

“I always knew I didn’t want just a 9-5 job.  I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, so I decided to do it all by playing different parts and learning a little about everything! It was one of the best decisions of my life.  Theatre taught me how to be a team player and to fix the problems as they come.  When you are on stage at a live performance, there is no stopping and restarting.  We have to work together to fix whatever the problem may be.  It has forced me to let my imagination run wild.  I was always a straight A student in high school.  I spent so much of my time trying to find the exact right answer.  Theatre taught me how to form my own thoughts, opinions, and ideas.  It opened my eyes to the fact that not everything has one right answer.”

“I believe I was created to help people, and the fact that I get to ease the stress of brides on their wedding day warms my heart.  That is a day that will change their lives forever, and I am able to help make it special. Not to mention I am doing it along side my role model, my mother!”
